W Stevenson and Son facing trials over records Print E-mail

A number of fishing boat owners, skippers and a firm of Newlyn fish auctioneers - W Stevenson and Sons - are to be committed to Truro Crown Court for trial.

They will face charges of failing to keep proper records of where fish were caught or proper landing records. West Cornwall Magistrates adjourned all the cases until July 7 when committal proceedings are due to take pace. Those involved are:

  • Julian Bick, whose address was given as c/o W Stevenson and Sons, Newlyn.
  • Geoffrey Leonard George Bullus, whose address was given as Higher Voras, Lelant Downs.
  • Drew Peter John Davies, whose address was given as Penlee Street, Penzance.
  • M Frew, whose address was given as Trevenor, St Hilary.
  • Doreen Hicks, whose address was given as Chywoone Hill, Newlyn.
  • James Stephen Hicks, whose address was given as Chywoone Hill, Newlyn.
  • Raymond Knight, whose address was given as St Anthony Lane, Manaccan.
  • Philip Mitchell, whose address was given as Trewarvenneth Street, Newlyn.
  • Cynthia Thomas, whose address was given as Lower Lelant, St Ives; Barney Thomas, whose address was given as Lower Lelant, St Ives.
  • John Neil Turtle, whose address was given as Boase Street, Newlyn.
  • Joan Christabel Mary Turtle, whose address was given as Boase Street, Newlyn.
  • Shaun Williams, whose address was given as Bowjey Terrace, Newlyn.
  • Leonard Michael Williams, whose address was given as Bowjey Terrace, Newlyn.
  • Arthur Shaun Williams, whose address was given as Bowjey Terrace, Newlyn.
  • Fish auctioneers W Stevenson and Sons, whose address was given as The Strand, Newlyn.
