The penwith quartet Buccas Four has recently returned from a very successful
tour of County Kerry. The quartet was based in Killarney and was invited
to sing in several venues including the White Gates Hotel with an Irish
trio, and on another night with an Irish dance group. They also performed
at the Scots Garden Hotel with an Irish country band.
The highlight of the tour was in Tralee, the county town of Kerry where
they topped the bill in a concert at Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn School. Their
efforts, together with local singers and a raffle, helped raise more than
5,000 Euros towards the cost of keeping a teacher the school may lose
because of budget constraints. Afterwards the quartet, and their family
and friends who supported them, were given a rousing reception at the
local football club.
The singers also joined in with a welcome home reception and fire works
display for Kerry County football team who won the county cup.
The last night of their stay was in Dublin where the Buccas Four entertained
the patrons of the Summit Inn.
This was the first tour of Ireland by the Buccas Four, but judging by
the amount of friends they made, it will certainly not be their last.
Their CD Cornish Boys is now being played and enjoyed in many areas of
County Kerry and beyond.

Lawry and David Williams, with, in the centre, John Joseph O'Connor, chairman
of the Board of Management of Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn School, the principal,
Mary McIlroy and Tadhg Condon, a member of the school's Board of Management.
