Three Newlyn fishermen-turned-artists are currently exhibiting their paintings at the Tolcarne inn - and they're going down a storm!

Ben Gunn, Paul Puxey and Rob 'Somerset' Szafarz are all members of the recently formed Newlyn Fisherman's Art Guild.

They mix of bright abstract paintings are proving very popular with the pub's locals and visitors.

The exhibition is called Sea Sons of Newlyn and includes poetry by Paul Puxey.

"Our customers love them" said landlady Maura Thompson. "They really brighten up the place and we sold four on the opening night."

The exhibition continues until March 5 and can be viewed during opening hours.

The Art Guild was set up last year with members holding their first exhibition at the Seaman's Mission last Easter.

The object of forming the Guild was to help sustain and improve the way of life for those involved directly and indirectly with the Newlyn fishing industry.

The Guild encapsulates painting, sculpture, writing, craft and photography.
