These are not just humorous tales, many are poignant stories, laced with nostalgia, that tug at the heartstrings and conjure up memories from the past. Liz is a natural born storyteller a 'Newlyn maid', her stories are for the most part set in Newlyn, however this book will have instant appeal not only to Newlyn Buccas but to anyone who knows and loves Cornwall.
Get your copy now and bear it in mind for birthday and Christmas presents, it will not fail to please.
The cover of a book is very important. Seen on the bookshop shelves it should invite you to pick it up, and this book with its easy to handle format and a cover painting by Michael Praed does just that. Once in the hand it is the content that immediately demands attention. Most of us have experienced Liz Harman's skill as a storyteller, always wanting just one more tale. Now we have a whole book of them to be savoured at will. I have to say that I greedily devoured the whole book at one sitting, but these are tales that invite re-reading and I shall return to it many times and possibly look for a sequel?
