Penlee lifeboat had two call-outs in a matter of hours on Tuesday when
it went to the aid of two broken-down boats. The first call came at 10.30am
when the skipper of the 25ft fishing boat Sovereign called coastguards
saying rope had fouled his propeller.
The lifeboat was dispatched to the boat at Lamorna Cove and the vessel
was towed back to Newlyn harbour.
A short while after the lifeboat returned to its station, a 26ft yacht,
a mile-and-a-half off Wolf Rock, lost its rudder. The lifeboat was again
launched and the Penzance-based boat and her crew of four were towed back
to Penzance.
