Helen Feiler Gallery - Jewellery and Drawings Print E-mail

Helen Feiler lives and works in Newlyn, Penzance, Cornwall, England where she has a gallery, as well as painting she makes jewellery and sells it from her gallery. During the summer months Helen is based in Cornwall and paints the beautiful seascapes of the Cornish coast, then in the winter months when it is quite, she closes her gallery and travels to Manda where she paints the locals and the tranquil surroundings of Manda and Lamu. The African Galleries show some of the paintings Helen has done on her travels to Manda.

“I learnt silversmithing with Alex Everitt in Mousehole, and the lost wax method with the sculptor Paul Mount in St. Just. I evolved my method of working with lost wax because I have always been drawn to ancient jewellery made in this way.The sea and landscapes which I draw influences my design; I collect and often use local pebbles and crystals. As my jewellery is made to be worn, I enjoy being there when the people try it on.”
