Appeals by three men against conviction and sentence for using
illegally-sized nets within a prohibited area were dismissed at Truro
Crown Court last week.
William Stevenson, 78, and Anthony Stevenson, 70,
both of The Strand, Newlyn, were each ordered by Judge Jeffrey Rucker
to pay £2,000 costs. At the magistrates court they had each been fined
£4,231 plus £3,114 costs.
William
Hooper, 66, of Treglyn Close, Faugan Parc, Newlyn, who had been fined
£400 by the magistrates, was not ordered to pay any appeal costs.
