Love by Peter Blake and Faces by Gavin Tuck is an exhibition of limited
edition diamond dust prints on display at the Badcocks Gallery, Newlyn,
until June 5.Sir Peter Blake, RA, now in his 70s is most famous for
designing the iconic cover of the Beatles album Sgt Peppers Lonely
Hearts Club Band
The result of such has put him in the flattering position of being imitated by many emerging artists.
In
this exhibition both Blake and Turk 'out-Warhol' Warhol with a
collection of images taken from popular culture and give a new twist
for this century.
Turk was famously denied his MA by the Royal
College of Art when his final year piece consisted only of a empty
studio hung with a blue heritage plaque reading "Gavin Turk worked
here".
He has been wittingly playing with ideas of originality and celebrity in art ever since.
It is this exploration that makes him one of the most original young artists in Britain at the moment.
Badcocks Gallery has a reputation for putting on surprising and unusual shows. The entire collection can be viewed online at
www.badcocksgallery.co.uk
The gallery is open from 10.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and on Saturday from 11am to 5.30pm.
