A wiltshire woman, who suspects her father saved her father-in-law's life by fishing him out of Newlyn harbour when they were boys in the early 1900s, is appealing to the people of Newlyn for information.Annette Willis' father, Archibald James Tresidder, lived in Newlyn from 1903 until 1916, when he ran away to war upon hearing the news that his brother Willie had been killed in action.

Annette, who was born and raised in Wiltshire, came to live with her aunt in Penzance in the 1950s, when she met and married Harold Wilson, whose father was also called Harold and was a bus driver in Penzance and Newlyn.

But before Annette's father died, he told her the story that has "spooked" her ever since.

"My dad just said to me one day, 'I've got a feeling it was Harold's father that I rescued from Newlyn Harbour'.

"I thought how spooky that my father should rescue my father-in-law before myself or my husband were even thought about.

"I really want to find evidence of this because I want to pass the story on down the generations of my family. Annette believes that her father would have been aged between 11 and 13 years old at the time and her father-in-law aged around nine.
