Thursday, 31 May 2007

The Fishermen's Mission charity, which has a mission in Newlyn, is inviting walkers to join a sponsored Midnight Madness walk across Dartmoor in July. This circular, approximately 14-mile walk starts at 9pm on the evening of Saturday, July 21, from Walkhampton and, depending on stamina and ability will take about five or six hours. By joining in this exciting and unusual walk you will be helping the Fishermen's Mission to continue in its work of caring for shipwrecked and injured fishermen.

You will also help in the care and support of the widows and children of fishermen lost at sea in the West Country.

It will be a chance to experience the wilderness and sounds of the moor at night with only the moonlight and torchlight to guide you.

Can you find the Indian's head by torchlight?

This magical experience is supervised by the Plymouth team of the Dartmoor Search & Rescue. For information and registering leaflet ring 0800 634 1020 or e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
