Disregarded territories Over the next few months several books are due to be published of particular interest to to people who love Newlyn, both resident and exiled. Watch this website for information on each of these books, see it here first!

With a publication date of 16 July the first book is disregarded territories - Newlyn photographs by Barry Sinton with an introduction by Jeremy Le Grice.

 Walking around the Cornish fishing port of Newlyn with his young sons almost daily for over three years, Barry Sinton started to record on camera what he saw, as more and more unique aspects of the place revealed themselves to him.

The result is an honest and elegant visual document of this wonderful village. In the 47 duotone photographs in the book, he has captured a magical sequence of hidden alleys and footpaths, of beautiful trees, gateways, houses, and of course, boats.  Jeremy Le Grice,  a painter who has had connections with Newlyn all his life and currently lives and works there, has written an insightful and passionate essay to introduce the images.
