The much-loved Buccas Fair returned to Newlyn Green on Saturday and
people turned out in force to welcome back the popular institution.
The
fair, which has raised funds for the Newlyn Male Choir for over 20
years, attracted almost 30 craft, food and games stalls as well as a
wide variety of music and dance.
Bryan
Marshall, secretary of the choir, said: "The rain came an hour too
early in the day but full credit to the majorettes who put on their
tracksuits and entertained us in the rain."
Entertainment was
provided by St Erth Band, the Trelawny Twirl team, the West Cornwall
Tatters and two local dance groups, Sparkllez and Overload, while there
were plenty of takers for the tea tent and the bouncy castle. Mr
Marshall added: "All in all we had a very good turn-out and the crowd
seemed to enjoy themselves.
