Monday July 30
Heading westwards in the morning was the Antiguan
flagged, German owned, container vessel Corsar, gross tonnage 3,999,
length 101 metres, beam 18m, draft 6.6m. She is capable of carrying
7,227 cubic metres of grain or 508 containers, of which 125 can be
refrigerated, at 15.3 knots. Passing her and heading east was the
container vessel B G Antwerp, gross tonnage 6,363, length 121m, beam
18m, draft 6.7m. She can carry 18,850 cubic metres of grain or 700
containers, at 16.4 knots.
The
Irish trawler Marrie Jacob (D 141) landed on Newlyn Market. The Malamok
completed work on the slipway and was replaced by the trawler Sapphire
(PZ 66) for a bottom scrub, coat of antifouling paint and anode renewal.
Tuesday July 31
The
Dutch scalloper Jacoba (UK 307) landed at Newlyn. The Sapphire
completed left the slipway and was replaced by the Ajax (AH 32) for
underwater repairs. At Penzance the Lady Vista was towed out of the dry
dock and replaced by the tug MCS Lenie for completion of stern gear
repairs. Having anchored in the bay overnight, the cement carrier Ronez
headed south.
Friday August 3
Heading west in the early
afternoon was the crude oil tanker Richard Maersk gross tonnage 22,184,
length 171m, beam 27m, draft 11.8m. She can carry 36,627 cubic metres
of crude oil at 14.5 knots. Astern of her was the coaster Apollo
Condor, gross tonnage 4,255, length 101m, beam 16m, draft 7.2m. She can
carry 8,040 cubic metres of grain or 180 containers at 13 knots.
Heading east was the coaster Arklow Wave, gross tonnage 8,936, length
136m, beam 21m, draft 8.4m. She can carry 17,311 cubic metres of grain
at 13.3 knots. Astern of her was the lpg carrier Sigas Lotta, gross
tonnage 2,224, length 74m, beam 14m, draft 5m. She can carry 1,760
cubic metres of liquid petroleum gas at 12.5 knots. Following closely
behind was the coaster RMS Libava, gross tonnage 1,281, length 75m,
beam 10m, draft 3.4m. She can carry 2,351 cubic metres of grain at 10.2
knots. Later, the coaster Elbetal headed east. She has a gross tonnage
of 2,416, length 85m, beam 13m, draft 5.4m. She can carry 4,781 cubic
metres of grain or 196 containers at 12 knots. Astern of her was the
flagged coaster Beronike, gross tonnage 2,007, length 78m, beam 13m,
draft 4.5m. She can carry 4,026 cubic metres of grain or 133 containers
at 10 knots. Following her was the container vessel Marus, gross
tonnage 2,906, length 99m, beam 16m, draft 4.9m. She can carry 4,440
cubic metres of grain or 340 containers at 14.5 knots. Astern of her
was the ro/ro vessel Link Star gross tonnage 5,627, length 106m, beam
17m, draft 6.1m. She can carry 9,766 cubic metres of grain or 180
containers at 15.3 knots.
Saturday August 4
Heading west
in the morning was the coaster Vedette, gross tonnage 2,033, length
86m, beam 14m, draft 5.3m. She can carry 4,262 cubic metres of grain or
152 containers. She was followed by the container vessel Achiever,
gross tonnage 5,025, length 116m, beam 18m, draft 6.9m. She can carry
8,349 cubic metres of grain or 510 containers at 16 knots. Astern of
her was the coaster Aasli, gross tonnage 3,968, length 100m, beam 16m,
draft 7m. She has a speed of 11.7 knots. Passing her and heading east
was the coaster Sea Ems, gross tonnage 1,682, length 82m, beam 11m,
draft 4.5m. She can carry 3,525 cubic metres of grain at 10.5 knots.
She was followed by the coaster Lass Moon, gross tonnage 1,515, length
74m, beam 11m, 4.4m. She can carry 2,550 cubic metres of grain at 10
knots. The container ship B G Rotterdam headed west. She has a gross
tonnage of 6,368, length 132m, beam 19m, draft 7.3m. She can carry 714
containers at 17 knots. Heading east was the chemical tanker Eberhard,
gross tonnage 3,075, length 105m, beam 15m, draft 5.6m. She can carry
6,841 cubic metres of liquid chemicals at 12 knots. Astern of her was
the coaster Remora, gross tonnage 1,499, length 80m, beam 11m, draft
3.2m. She can carry 2,666 cubic metres of grain at 10 knots. The Ajax
completed her work on Newlyn slip and was replaced by the Crystal
Waters 11 (B 974).
Sunday August 5
Heading west in the
morning was the car carrier Courageous Ace, gross tonnage 56,439,
length 198m, beam 32m, draft 9.9m. She can carry 6,400 cars at 20
knots. Astern of her was the lpg carrier Sigas Champion, gross tonnage
2,458, length 74m, beam 14m, draft 4.8m. She can carry 1,970 cubic
metres of liquid gas at 12 knots. Heading east was the car carrier
Grande Ellade, gross tonnage 52,485, length 182m, beam 32m, draft 9.4m.
She can carry 2,500 cars and 300 containers at 19.5 knots.
