Just spoke to John on Charisma. They had 63 fish on the first day and 84 fish yesterday. Not a lot today so far :( weather is starting to freshen up!

The Ben Loyal has made it through the night with nothing breaking or leaking! So at the min boat and crew are healthy, but its early days!  However, we're feeling up beat about this attempt to catch some tuna. If not I have made my reservation for the pent house sweet aboard the hospital ship probably wearing a straight jacket, the only high preasure we have out here at the min is in my body. Weather is shitty at the min nnw wind fresh and we are rocking and rolling at the min. [...]

Nova Spero has been fishing for four days and has a total of 600 tuna!

The Charisma had 82 tuna on Tuesday (first day fishing), and 123 tuna yesterday.

Weather is not very good at minute. Fish aren't feeding, but both Jon and Shaun are picking away and will hopefully end up with a decent trip!

 Quentin is still is port :( nothing seems to be going his way at the minute. That's fishing for you! More problems with the boat, but hoping to get away before the weekend.

John will be away this eve,we have had newlyns problem solving team this morning as we had to come in again with the same problem,the crew we have are beautys all credit to them for sticking at it as many would have walked by now.

I think they have solved it today will get the parts in the morn,and get cracking in fitting them so  should get away mon or tues which will give a gap in the landings but not being to negative im not going to hold my breath on it we shall see,have b [...]

I think we are sorted i will not say anymore than that ,if this is the last thing i ever do i will get a full trip in this year and break this run we are having at the moment,and out of bad luck comes good have got a  friend coming to lend a hand and he taught me a lot when i first went to sea at 14 on the scarlet thread i was a total decky learner,bloody hell it actually still feels like i am, but i got there in the end and i owe my fishing career to him jim nixon,cant be [...]

Shaun will be in tomorrow with first good trip of the year 200 hundred fish landed here and 700 to France. It's a shame but there we are, we have to get £4 or more to make it a go er for us. I think the merchants thought it was going to be the usual, pile it high on the market and get it for peanuts routine. So good on you, me old mate, for spliting the trip. It shows that fisherman can work together in Cornwall.....well only time will tell.

Still nothing! Fish and Spanish have gone in all directions. we just are not having any let up in our luck at the minute. This wheelhouse is a horrible place when it isn't going your way. Not alot with shaun either. Got markings but they are not feeding.  Going to go looking 50 to 100nm, looking to the NW which means at the minute I should go SE. Weather is fine thats the good part. Keep towing .....keep believing! Feeling the pressure to catch some tuna [...]

No fish with us! Shaun is doing ok. weather has been crap, but sun is out now & crew seem to be loving it.  Ethan thinks he's on deadliest catch.I am just pulling my hair out trying to get our lines right and catch some fish. Weather is getting a bit better we dont seem to be fishing well at the minute.  Just got in the group we shall see very soon. I just dont seem to be able to catch...um must be doing something wrong. Just don't know at min.

Shaun got 150 today and we will be fishing in the morning, I bloody hope so anyway. Weather ain't that good at min, but we will be fishing soon Shaun spoke to Jon our Basque friend, the man is a legend! Heading towards them will stop short of them (50 mile or so) and tow towards them, thats plan and will be on plan z by morning. Coming off the shelf at the min, weather is pissy. Got to say this is bloody good,  taken 8 yrs but got there, just need to catch some fish now and get [...]

All is well.....no puking and weather has fined away. Shaun had 120 yesterday I think. I am going to stop NE of him 50mile 'cos we will get there in the morning 5ish and tow down towards him.

We are away! Everything seems to be working. Sadly Matt has called it a day, which is a shame 'cos he has worked hard on the boat and has gone through the bit, which I call 'the crap part of fishing' which is the prep work. This is now where (touch wood) we at last get a chance to do some fishing. Haven't heard from Shaun yet, he's running silent run deep. Hopefully I can now put us on some fish and we can get our first full trip in. I no we need it the [...]

Heres one its just bloody good food no matter what colour it is,just had my first 3 tuna steaks for tea,cant move much right now but who cares its bloody rich.

The new big bother box has been fitted today and is working well ok the light is but nobody is home just yet just because the enginneer says its working he cant say its ok to go to sea,you still need to recieve a phone call to say it is working of someone in never never land which is on this planet i am told now what they no [...]

Well we went monday midnight got the poles in the air and off we went on our first adventure,little did i no what was coming next.Had great steam down there about 400nm miles no probs made contact with jon our basque friend and headed to meet them,now just before we got there we had a prob and HOUSTON was it a problem only in this country our VMS went down and its not a vd disease although it felt like it at the time.

Our basque friends should have gone to sea today was trying to get down there at about the same time as them sea temp looks ok down there now but we are not ready yet,still got jobs to do we are waiting for liferafts,fire alarm system and our fishroom needs a few jobs but we are getting there.

Reckon we should shake it up for the end of this week if it goes to plan feeling the pressure abit now cos just want to go catch some fish we will get there,and the cherry picker went back to [...]

Now thats a job i would like to do playing around on a cherry picker,they have given us a brand new cherry picker to use,now i wouldnt let a fisherman loose on a brand new one cos there aint no way it will be returned in the same working condition.

getting to be alot to take in all at once,the engine room,wheelhouse and electrics,the electrical system for the boat,and a sh..load of other stuff talk about overload.

Bloody chickens they have acres to go around in on one side of the rd but no,they have to cross the rd well thats what happens when a chicken takes on a vw polo,thats my egg production down by one a day.

Plenty of stress still going to be a struggle to be ready on time loads of small jobs to do,and some big ones,you have to get it right cos of the distance we have to steam its just bloody hard work to get it how you want it to catch fish you just cant say that will do.

Left the yard saturday morn, minus one wheelhouse seat,weather was good gave the lads chance to get there sea legs,you always feel abit green when you havnt been to sea for awhile,but all went well just had the two puke abit but nothing they wont get over,which is good cos it could have been worse,i got the chance to visit the new throne house where i got the chance to think about what the hell i had let my self in for but would say thats only natural.

2 weeks to go,we are getting there but its slow,people skills are not my thing give me fishing any day of the week saying that kevins dog chalky p..sed on me today so my dog skills aint that good either.

Going toms tomorrow  to pick the old girl up then steam her to newlyn for some paint,loads of small jobs and fine tuning of fishing gear to be done it will be tight but reckon 1st june should see us done,last couple of week ends home for awhile spending kevins money has been fun bu [...]
