A small gathering was held in the Penlee lifeboat boathouse last week
to bid farewell to David Whitehead, superintendent of The Royal
National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen (the Fishermen's Mission) which
supports working, retired and disabled fishermen and their
families.
David, who has served in Newlyn for the last couple of years,
is moving to Sheffield to continue his Christian ministry with his wife
Anne and his baby son Nicholas.
Links
between the Mission and the RNLI are very close and David will be
missed around Penlee. His replacement is the popular previous
incumbent, Keith Dixon.
