Approval for merchants' building Print E-mail
Wednesday, 09 July 2008

A SCHEME to turn the W Harvey & Sons fish merchants' building into 14 self-contained flats has been given approval. Last week Penwith planners agreed to an amended plan subject to certain conditions. An earlier application for the site at The Coombe, Newlyn, which went before the planning committee last year, was rejected on the grounds of the potential for noise disturbance from the existing fish business next door, and also unsatisfactory pedestrian access to homes. These issues have been addressed and approval has been given subject to certain conditions which included developers seeking approval from County Highways for a pavement and contacting the District Surveyor about access.
