A HERITAGE Day to promote a group keen to establish a Newlyn archive is being held on Saturday from 10am to 1pm at The Centre, Trinity Methodist Church, Chywoone Hill, Newlyn.

Newlyn Fish Industry Forum Environment Group also hopes find out what articles and information are held locally and gauge interest in the project.

It is hoped that an archive might begin in a small way at The Centre, before expanding into a refurbished chapel next door – itself a Grade II* listed building and an important part of Newlyn's built heritage.

There will be various displays and exhibitions as well as short films of Newlyn interest and refreshments will be available.

Please bring any items of interest relating to Newlyn's past, including photographs or paintings, shop receipts, letters or deeds.
