A MEETING in which you will be invited to have your say in determining the future of Penzance takes place tonight (Thursday the 23rd of April).
The
document 'Penzance Futures' is being jointly launched at the Queens
Hotel by the town council and Penzance Market and Coastal Towns
initiative (MCTi).
You will have the opportunity to join one of seven 'delivery groups' based around general areas of concern in the community.
The
seven areas are: 1) Housing and Built Environment, 2) Community Health
and Well-being, 3) Economy, 4) Culture, Heritage and Identity, 5) Local
Government and Community Organisations, 6) Traffic and Transport, 7)
Sustainable Future.
Recognised framework
It is hoped that the 'delivery groups' will produce a recognised
framework which will allow the town council and the MCTi to work with
the new departments of Cornwall Council and the soon to be formed
'Community Area Network' as well as other organisations like the police
and health authority.
'Penzance
Futures' focuses not just on Penzance itself but also the outlying
areas including Gulval, Long Rock, Newlyn, Paul, Mousehole, Lamorna,
Heamoor and Madron. The meeting at the Queens Hotel tonight starts at
7pm.
