A Newlyn painter is set to join of a select group of artists who have
been given the royal seal of approval. Jason Walker has been granted
associate membership of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. He has
become one of just 54 members and four associates to be recognised by
the exclusive group and hopes to become a full member next year. The
39-year-old, who lives in Heamoor and works at Trewarveneth studios in
Newlyn, was selected from more than 900 other artists for an exhibition
by the society in London's Mall Galleries last month.
