Monday, 18 January 2010
Penlee lifeboat came to the rescue of a Dutch tall ship after the under-manned boat was battered by wild weather.

The lifeboat towed the 130ft-tall Pacific Swift top the safety of Newlyn harbour yesterday morning.

Falmouth Coastguard received an emergency call at 12.30am yesterday after the Dutch-registered boat reported having its sails ripped and that its engine had failed.

The tall ship was making its way from the Azores back to Holland when it ran into bad weather in the Bay of Biscay.
