I discovered a few days ago that the Duke Street Café, here in Newlyn, recently changed hands and that the new owners had extended the menu.
I called there this morning and can vouch for the excellence of the coffee and friendly service. I managed to resist the cakes, which looked delicious.
The new owners are Adrian and Laura from Perranporth. Adrian is a trained chef and Laura has always worked in the hospitality trade. The Café is now open seven days a week from 9 am to 5 pm. They have a new menu, all local produce. In addition to a comprehensive breakfast menu (served until 11.30 am) there is a varied menu with a selection of meat, fish and vegetarian meals. Also a ‘specials’ board.
Good food, pleasant surroundings and reasonable prices all make for an enjoyable experience.
