A RARE Arctic gull more commonly seen alongside polar bears has been
spotted residing in the warmer climates of Newlyn harbour. Photographer
Brad Sharp took this shot from the end of the pier on Sunday, March 15.
Brad said: "I spotted the gull flying around Newlyn harbour and I
managed to get these shots and later found out that the gull was a
juvenile glaucous Arctic gull. There are about 300 in the country
during the winter and they are quite rare but he has been around for a
couple of months. I was in the harbour and thought to myself 'that's an
unusual gull' because it's white so I threw a piece of pasty at it and
managed to get some shots.
