FRIDAY night sees the gathering of two very popular West Cornwall groups for a concert at St Thomas's Church, Heamoor.
The event, which starts at 7.30pm, features Buccas Four, the male quartet from Newlyn, and Jenna and Morwenna Matthews, of Heamoor, with their wonderful Twin Harmony.
Buccas Four have had a stuttering start to the year, with top tenor Charles Parke suffering a broken heel, and several events having to be cancelled. Even though Charles is still not fully up to speed on his foot, he is definitely on the ball with the singing. With Graham Warren (second tenor), Dave Williams (baritone) and Stephen Lawry (bass) completing the Buccas, the quartet have been back in their flow recently with performances at Hellesveor Chapel, St Michael's Mount, Ponsongath (near St Keverne), and at weddings in Stithians and St Agnes.
With a few new pieces in their repertoire the quartet are looking forward to singing at Heamoor again, in the lovely acoustic of St Thomas's.
They are particularly pleased that Jenna and Morwenna have agreed to sing with them again, as they always add joy, charm and beautiful harmony to any evening. Most of the male voice choirs in Cornwall have invited the girls as guest artistes, and they have enjoyed huge success with their CD, Twin Harmony, from which the proceeds go to Children's Hospice South West.
