A FLOTILLA of five Breton traditional vessels will arrive in Newlyn on Monday to recreate a voyage made 70 years ago.
The fleet will relive the journey of 122 Frenchmen who left Ile de Sein, a small island off Brest, following the radio appeal made by the exiled General De Gaulle in June 1940 for Free Frenchmen to join the fight against the Nazis.
A small fleet of Cornish boats, including luggers and the Penlee lifeboat, will escort the Bretons into Newlyn harbour at around 8am.
