RESIDENTS of Penzance and Newlyn are being asked to have their say at a critical stage of a project looking at the area's economic future.
The Penzance and Newlyn Framework Plan is examining the area's potential for business and job opportunities, as well as how it could evolve to meet the needs of residents and visitors over the next 20 to 30 years.
Exhibition
The plan is being developed by AECOM Design + Planning, who are employed by Cornwall Council. Details of the various ideas will be displayed in Penzance and Newlyn until the end of August.
They will be available at The Centre, Chywoone Hill, Newlyn; Penzance Library and Penzance Leisure Centre. A public exhibition will also be held in the afternoon and evening of next Tuesday, July 20, at St John's Hall in Penzance.
There will be two presentations on the day, at 4pm and 7.30pm, when more explanation will be provided.
Cornwall Council cabinet member for economy and regeneration, Carolyn Rule, said: "We have already seen strong support for the project which looks at improving the social and economic prospects of Penzance and Newlyn and increasing developer confidence in the whole Mounts Bay area.
"Now we want to gauge people's reactions to specific development proposals and key principles for better transport management in the town."
Residents won't have to make their mind up immediately.
Feedback forms will be available at the exhibition venues for people to take away and consider during the consultation period.
They will also be available on the Cornwall Council website at www.cornwall.gov.uk/penzanceplan , as well as at various locations throughout the town during the summer or by e-mailing linda.davies@cornwall.gov.uk.
