HARBOUR bosses are seeing red after new boxes meant to help fishermen have been cut up for use in shellfish pots.
Newlyn's harbour commission had splashed out on the boxes for the port, at a cost of up to £10 per box.
But they have been disappointed to find that some users have vandalised the boxes, cutting out the bottoms to line pots using for catching crabs.
Harbour master Andrew Munson said it was a shame that the new resources had been ruined by just a few.
