A BOAT which broke down outside the entrance to Newlyn harbour in rough seas was towed to safety by the Penlee lifeboat.

The Intuition, a 50ft crabber, suffered gearbox problems on Tuesday night. A small fishing vessel tried to tow it into the harbour but struggled against the wind. The all-weather lifeboat, the Severn class Ivan Ellen, was launched at 9.30pm. Crew members threw a tow rope to the Intuition, and successfully returned her to port just over half an hour later.
