A WOODEN donkey which had become a talking point for Newlyn residents has been stolen from his roadside spot.
Marcus, a 4ft-long handmade model, was made to help raise money for horses in need.
Marcus spent his days in the front garden of owner Karen Stacey's Chywoone Hill home.
But mum-of-two Karen is heartbroken after Marcus was stolen from outside her house last month, and says local children share her disappointment.
"This has hurt my feelings and the kids all really loved him. Why would someone come into my garden and steal my donkey?"
Animal-lover Karen said she hoped to use Marcus for more fundraising this summer.
"It is more for the community, the amount of people – kids and grown-ups alike – that ask where the donkey is."
