FISHERMEN and others working in the industry are being invited to take part in a new steering group.
Residents are welcome to attend meetings in Newlyn or the Isles of Scilly to find out more about getting involved with the Fisheries Local Action Group (FLAG).
Cornwall Development Company is kicking off consultation on the scheme, which will look at how to boost fishing communities and attract funding. Training fishing industry staff, encouraging women into fishing, creating co-operatives and developing tourism will be just some of the issues on the table.
To find out more, head to the open meetings on Monday, April 4, at the Isles of Scilly council chambers from 11am to 1pm or in the canteen of the Fishermen's Mission in Newlyn between 4pm and 6pm.
If you can't attend, contact Claire Hurley to receive details of the consultation on 01209 616087 or at claire.hurley@cornwalldevelopmentcompany.co.uk
