WILDLIFE watchers will be keeping a keen eye out for basking sharks, after the first sighting of the season.
Two divers spotted a male shark off Roskilly beach near Newlyn last month at the same spot where a seven-metre female was found ensnared in a gill net in 2005.
The Cornwall Wildlife Trust says it would like to be told of any sightings of the giant species, normally seen swimming near the surface where they feed on plankton. E-mail baskingshark@cornwt.demon. co.uk or call marine conservation officer Tom Hardy on 01872 273939, extension 208.
Alternatively, details of any any sightings can be uploaded at http://baskingsharks. wildlifetrusts.org/helpus
