YOUNGSTERS in Newlyn helped celebrate the opening of a newly refurbished pre-school last week.
Stepping Stones, which was founded in 1991, has transformed its premises next to Newlyn Primary School thanks to an Early Years capital grant.
The building, which is on the site of the school's old canteen, has been given a new lease of life.
Sue Moon, the pre-school's manager, said the revamp had "transformed the setting, both inside and out".
Stepping Stones, which was rated outstanding by Ofsted inspectors last year, was reopened on Friday.
Year 6 pupils, conducted by Joshua, entertained the guests, who included past and present staff.
Lotty, the eldest girl in the school, cut the ribbon and then Mia and Lillianah, the youngest from Stepping Stones, presented flowers to Mrs Whitney, Newlyn's head teacher, and Mrs O'Connor, a former head who is now chairperson of Stepping Stones.
Mrs Moon thanked the department for Children, Schools and Families, Cornwall Council, RTP Chartered Surveyors, GA Wildish building contractors, Cornwall Shed Co, Causewayhead Furnishings, South West Play, Alan Cargeeg, Direct Textiles, Matta Products, Studio Read, DJ Carpentry, Jason Dunn, Oliver Moon, Mrs Whitney, her staff and the children of Newlyn School, and the team at Stepping Stones for all their hard work.
