WANTED: enthusiastic crew members to learn how to sail a traditional lugger.
John Lambourn, owner of the Newlyn-based Ripple, is on the hunt for sea-loving locals keen to take on a new challenge.
He hopes to train two teams of people in the next month to crew the lovingly-restored vessel which is one of only three double-ended sailing luggers in the world.
Anyone keen to learn the ropes in time to take Ripple to the Looe Lugger Regatta next month needs to have "a desire and a commitment to do it and to develop their skills," said John. Ripple was first registered in 1896. Since being bought by John Lambourn in 2003, she has been fully refitted and restored.
Now he's teamed up with National Historic Ships and the Royal Yachting Association in the hope that Ripple can become a registered training centre.
