VANDALISED plastic boxes in Newlyn's fish market are causing frustration for harbour officials. In January The Cornishman reported that lost or stolen boxes were costing the harbour commission thousands of pounds a year after a meeting heard 400 large plastic boxes had gone missing during 2010.
Now some of the remaining fish boxes are being 'vandalised' by fishermen to measure shellfish, a move that has angered harbourmaster Andrew Munson.
"These boxes are approximately £10 each and this is pure vandalism to cut them up in this way."
