THE ANNUAL Yacht Inn open water swim in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support takes place next Friday, August 19.
Last year's event attracted 453 swimmers, all completing the 1,300m Newlyn to Penzance course parallel to the Promenade.
As usual, registration will be on The Newlyn Green behind Newlyn Art Gallery. It will open at 4pm and close at 6.45pm prompt. Entries can only be made on the day.
The 12-and-under race starts at 6.55pm and the main event will start at 7.20pm.
The fastest swimmers should complete the race in less than 16 minutes while others will take up to an hour. Electronic timing chips will be used.
All competitors will receive an event T-shirt and all 12 and under finishers will get a medal.
