THE PENLEE lifeboat went to the assistance of a fisherman who had caught his hand in a winch on board the Silver Star about half a mile off Lamorna.
The Ivan Ellen was called out to the fishing boat, which works out of Newlyn, at around 10pm on Tuesday.
Martin Phillips, the staff coxswain, said: "Two crew members went on board to assess the casualty and dress his wounds.
"We returned to Newlyn shortly before 11pm and handed him over to the ambulance service."
