THE MANAGER of Newlyn's largest fishing company has praised Penzance Dry Dock after it completed works on its vessel the William Sampson.
Andy Manza, general manager of WS Stevenson & Sons, said the company was pleased with the work that was carried out on its vessel at short notice.
The William Sampson departed Penzance Dry Dock last month following a four-week schedule of works and a refit.
The Newlyn-based vessel had been in the dry dock for four weeks with all work completed on time despite a number of changes to the work's statement.
Mr Manza said: "Penzance Dry Dock is a local facility that provides an easily accessible dry working environment for the refit of vessels.
"The work was carried out on time and to a very tight schedule of works drawn up at very short notice, following the successful refit of two vessels."
The Isles of Scilly Steamship Company took the lease on the dry dock two years ago.
