PENZANCE, Sennen, Newlyn, Marazion and Rosudgeon will all feature on the Olympic torch's journey through Cornwall next year.
The iconic flame will be lit in Land's End on May 19 before starting on its path through 1,000 towns and villages as it winds its way to London.
As well as passing through the towns and villages, the torch will stop off at St Michael's Mount.
The route, drawn up by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), was informed by local councils and organisations and aims to take the torch within an hour's travel time of 95 per cent of the population.
"This is a hugely important day for Cornwall and we hope that everyone will join in the celebrations," said Cornwall Council leader Alec Robertson.
Party
"While we appreciate that some communities may be disappointed that LOCOG have not chosen their particular town or village as part of the official route, this doesn't mean that they won't be able to join in the party, as the aim is for these areas to host the Olympic Torch Relay on behalf of their surrounding communities.
"We want every town and village to be part of Cornwall Celebrates 2012 and hope that local people and communities from across Cornwall will join together to come up with innovative ways of marking this very special day."
The torch will be visiting Mr Robertson's own local area of Helston as well as Ashton, Breage, Falmouth, Truro, Newquay, St Stephen, St Austell, Stenalees, Bugle, Lanivet, Bodmin, Liskeard and Saltash before crossing into Devon on the Tamar Bridge.
Sebastian Coe, chairman of LOCOG, said: "We're thrilled to confirm that these towns and villages will act as host locations for the Olympic Flame, extending an invitation to people in Cornwall to welcome the Olympic Torch Relay during its journey.
"This is the UK's moment to shine and I want to encourage people across Cornwall to start planning how they can be part of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and show their support for the inspirational Torchbearers chosen to carry the Olympic Flame as we count down to the start of the Games."
Cornwall Council plans to spend more than £135,000 on events linked with the Olympic Torch's journey.
