The owners of the Newlyn Meadery have said farewell to two members of
staff who gave more than 55 years' service between them.Jude Beckerleg,
who has worked at the Meadery for 32 years, and Jacque Sear, who put in
25 years, retired last month.
They have won praise from former bosses Cyril and Christine Leiworthy who said they were loved by all the customers they served.
Mrs
Leiworthy added: "They have both been very valuable members of our
team. They were very hard-working and loyal and we all enjoyed their
friendship and humour."
During their time at the business the
pair have twice taken part in the Pirates fun run and entered the
Newlyn raft race on 10 occasions - winning once and sinking once.
Jude also joined three other staff from the Meadery who travelled to Romania in 1992 to work at an orphanage for a month.
As a result she raises money for the Penwith Friends of White Cross Mission.
Both Jude and Jacque have now decided to call time on their careers to enjoy their leisure time and grandchildren.
