It's sink or swim for rafts

The popular raft race, organised by Newlyn's Christmas Lights Committee, starts at 2pm with the junior rafts leaving the safety of the shore first.

The event includes all kinds of stalls, a bouncy castle and trampolines and a barbecue.

Numerous raffle prizes have been donated from local businesses including Badcocks Gallery, The Smugglers Restaurant and Rowes the bakers.

St Michael's Mount, The Eden Project and Skinner's Brewery have also supplied prizes.

Participants can either have their own raft or sponsor a raft.

Stall space is available.
