THE Newlyn Arts Festival, is to be held on October 12-14, at participating venues in Newlyn.

One of the many events being planned is a trail and guide to famous artists' homes and studios located in The Fradgan, Farmer's Meadow, Old Paul Hill, Trewarveneth Street, Belle Vue and The Bowjey.

If you have any reminiscences, memorabilia or sketches or paintings on your walls that have a family story - for example someone who modelled for them - or a cottage interior connected to any of the artists who lived in Newlyn from the late 19th century to the mid 20th century, whose work depicted local people and recognisable landmarks, please could we view and photograph them for inclusion in the guide? Anonymity and strict confidence assured if necessary.

More importantly, if you haven't any artworks but instead a fund of stories and anecdotes concerning the artists, please get in touch with me.

The information will form the basis for a short, informal written guide and trail through Newlyn's streets, which can show where our artists lived and worked. Please phone for a friendly chat (01736 333180) or see me at Fradgan House, The Fradgan - I'm usually working in my studio overlooking Keel Alley.

Time is of the essence so please contact me before Friday, October 5. In anticipation, thank you for your help.

All contributions, if you wish, will be gratefully acknowledged.
