Janet Axten, of St Ives, was recognised for her services to Cornish historical research, Liz Harman, of Newlyn, for services to the Cornish dialect and literature and Tim Hosken, of St Just, for services to music.
In 1996, Janet Axten founded and has subsequently run as a volunteer supervisor, the St Ives Trust Archive Study Centre.
She is also an advisory panel member of the Bernard Leach Restoration Project, a committee member of the St Ives September Festival and runs the Local Family History Group.
Liz Harman is an author and story-teller who regularly entertains and informs with her stories at Penzance's Golowan and Tip of the Tongue festivals; these stories are now in print in her book Now 'Ark To Me.
She also regularly performs fishing tales at Penlee House and other venues throughout Cornwall.
A founder member of Newlyn's St Peter's Players, this year she wrote the first Nativity play – Sound the Trumpet – to be performed at St Peter's Church for 40 years. Tim Hosken is the musical director of the Penzance Choral Society, Penzance Operatic Society and the Marazion Apollo Male Choir.
For the choral society, he has been overseeing the society's successful 150th anniversary celebrations this year while the Marazion choir enjoyed its 125th anniversary celebrations last year.
He is also involved in music-making at St Just Methodist Church.
