Author will be reading at library

NEWLYN author Alexandra Pratt will be at Penzance Library today reading a short section from her new book, The Day The Island Exploded.

She will also be showing a film about her father-in-law's narrow escape from death on a remote Antarctic Island, taking any questions and asking children to write on the volcano theme, which will then be displayed in the library.

Alexandra specialises in writing about travel, adventure and history and is the author of four previous non-fiction books for adults, including, A Woman's Journey to the Heart of Labrador.
