THE superintendent of Newlyn's Fisherman's Mission has thanked all those who supported this year's fish festival.

"I would like to extend a big thank you to all who worked so tirelessly for the fish festival this year," says Keith Dickson.

"Special thanks goes to the committee which worked hard through the winter to bring you this year's festival.

"More thanks go to the Newlyn Harbour staff and the harbour master Andrew Munson and finally to Sgt Andy Crawford, PC Tracey Fuller and his police cadets and all the police who attended the festival – your support and hard work made the difference on the day."

Mr Dickson also congratulated the King's Arms at St Just for winning the Pile of Pennies competition – the 16 pubs that took part raised more than £660.
